Come and enjoy an immersive Cuban Music and Culture experience. This multi-city tour which runs from January 24 – February 1, 2026 is led by Washington College professors Ken Schweitzer (music) and Aaron Lampman (anthropology), each of whom have extensive knowledge of Cuban Culture and share a deep desire to offer participants an insider’s view of Cuban Music, art, culture, cuisine and politics.
After meeting in Miami (Option 1), we spend 3 nights in Trinidad, a beautiful colonial city built to repel pirates and situated on the edge of the 2nd largest mountain range in Cuba and overlooking the Caribbean. Full of wonderful restaurants and a variety of music venues all within walking distance, you’ll have opportunities to explore the city, the mountains, and the ocean, and to learn about Trinidad’s long history of sugar, coffee, and pottery. From here, we will head to Havana where we will spend our days exploring Havana’s historic charms, museums, artists’ studios, architecture, and restaurants. And of course, our evenings will be spent enjoying jazz during the 41st Havana International Jazz Festival. Join us for an opportunity of a lifetime!
Option 2: Skip Trinidad and join us for the Havana experience on the January 28th.
